African airlines urged to reduce fares
With a population estimated at over a billion, Africa accounts for only 1% of the world’s air traffic.
This is mainly attributed to the fact that airline fares are not affordable for ordinary people on the continent.
Ivorian Minister of Transport, Amadou Koné, recently raised an alarm about this challenge and called on African airlines to lower their rates.
Abdulrasaq Saidu, an aviation consultant spoke further on the issue.
